Overview

Symbria has an outstanding opportunity for a Senior Financial Accountant to add to our growing Finance Team.  In this role, you will utilize your knowledge and expertise, applying accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information. You will be responsible for accurate and timely financial reporting to management, plus coordination of year-end income audit.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for internal and external financial reporting.
  • Review and analyze monthly financial work papers and financial statements including monthly and annual accounts.
  • Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures with supporting research, when applicable.
  • Prepare financial analyses and reports for management.
  • Assist with income tax workpapers for external tax accountants Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures.
  • Assistance with financial statement audits.
  • Assist with sales and use tax and unclaimed property filings.
  • Analyze business operations including revenue and expenditure trends.
  • Assist with annual budget and projection preparation, forecasting and ad hoc reporting.
  • Assist with special projects as determined by the Controller or Vice President of Finance.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED   

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting; minimum 3 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Knowledge of accounting and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare management reports, financial statements, and projections. 
  • Proficient use of computers and Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of accounting software applications, including Sage 300 a plus.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, accurate and motivated, with good communication and problem solving skills.

QUALIFICATIONS PREFFERED

  • Successful completion or active pursuit of CPA exams strongly preferred.
  • Public accounting experience.
  • Managerial experience
  • Experience with income and payroll taxes
