Symbria Rx Services is seeking a Lead Pharmacy Billing Technician to add to our growing team.

 

The Lead Pharmacy Billing Technician is responsible for the oversight of an assigned team of billers.The Lead Pharmacy Billing Technician will also be responsible for performing certain billing functions.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overseeing daily operations of assigned billing team.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of skilled nursing admission process and required documentation to be able to effectively guide assigned billing team’s efforts in executing timely billing.
  • Monitor assigned billing team efforts to ascertain census is being maintained timely and accu rately.
  • Assume overall responsibility for timeliness and accuracy of billing process and invoices for assigned billing team.
  • Create weekly and monthly composites, as necessary.
  • Create private pay bills and upload to third party billing software.
  • Collaborate with Accounts Receivable Lead Specialist to reconcile accounts receivable balances to accounting software and customer invoices.
  • Reconcile accounts receivable balances to accounting software after monthly billing is created.
  • Manage and monitor unbilled claims.
  • Ensure all policies and procedures are documented and followed by the assigned billing team.
  • Ascertain all assigned new employees receive adequate training on a timely basis.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate, and delegate staff while holding them accountable to achieve established results.
  • Ensure department goals are communicated and understood by the assigned billing team.
  • Responsible for adhering to annual review process and procedures as established by the Human Resources Department.
  • Any and all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Associate degree; accounting, finance, or other related field preferred.
  • Experience with long-term care pharmacy (Symbria experienced preferred), pharmacy billing, and/or healthcare billing experience, minimum five (5) years.
  • Familiarity with insurance processes and adjudication, including unit dose compositing.
  • Recognized leadership skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of billing software, electronic billing, and electronic medical record.
  • Advanced knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, private pay, and third-party billing requirements.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with effective time management skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to train, mentor, coach, and delegate while holding staff accountable.
  • Ability to deal with difficult situations in a professional and courteous manner.

 

Software skills:

    • Experience with billing and accounting software for managing accounts, processing payments, and reconciling reports;
    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft products.
