Overview

Symbria is seeking an experienced Physical Therapist who thrives on being current and proficient on the industry standards including clinical and regulatory changes and updates with a passion for sharing those insights.  Based out of our corporate office in Warrenville, IL, the Clinical Operations Consultant will provide consultation services in order to optimize the quality of Symbria Rehab programs by clarifying regulations as set forth by CMS that affect company operations and compliance as well as providing consultative support to clients through a variety of activities.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare reports, which detail effective rehab clinical operations impacted through Symbria Rehab’s management/consultation.
  • Market and promote consultation services to foster business growth.
  • Provides research and reporting of clinical program information as needed in order to develop and execute company and clients’ needs.
  • Recognize and identify changes in the regulatory environment; proactively research and provide information and recommendations to the clinical operations and management teams.
  • Master strong knowledge of client’s cultural setting (in-house program, switch out therapy vendor) and geographic area (urban, rural, middle/upper-class) in order to create and adapt programs, which can change over time.
  • Conduct semi-annual quality assurance audits per Symbria Rehab policies and procedures and as needed based on client need.
  • Work with Program Managers to assemble documentation for ADR’s and denials and construct letters of consideration as needed.
  • Manage denials throughout the appeals process and input information into database relating to outstanding claims in assigned area.
  • Provide training, coaching and mentoring to Program Managers, including new managers being on-boarded.
  • Collaborate with other consultants to develop new training materials for therapy staff.
  • Provide training to therapy staff regarding regulatory updates, documentation, new program initiatives and quality assurance protocols.
  • Provide support to Program Managers in skilled nursing, home health and outpatient settings as they prepare for government surveys and accreditation surveys.

 

Work Schedule

  • This position requires occasional travel, including some out-of-state travel, to assist with clinical operations or quality assurance audits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in a rehabilitation discipline.
  • Acute care, long-term care and/or rehabilitation experience; minimum of two years.
  • Proficient knowledge of Resource Utilization Groups (RUGS), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) regulations and general understanding of home health and outpatient service lines.
  • Passion for operational delivery and proven customer service key skills; attention to detail, problem analysis and solving, analytical thinking and ability to work under pressure.
  • Demonstrated professional appearance, effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Proficient use of computers and Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and Outlook.
