Ready to Take the Next Step into Pharmacy Leadership?

Symbria is looking for a pharmacist who is ready to take the next step in their career and grow as a leader while remaining connected to pharmacy practice and patient care.

As the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC), you’ll have the opportunity to lead and develop a pharmacy team, support strong pharmacy operations, and help foster a culture centered on quality, service, and compliance.

Previous PIC experience is not required. We’re looking for a pharmacist with the initiative, judgment, and desire to lead, develop others, and make a meaningful impact.

Position Summary

The Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) plays a critical leadership role, providing oversight of pharmacy operations while ensuring regulatory, legal, and compliance requirements are met. As the pharmacist of record with state and federal agencies, the PIC is responsible for ensuring pharmacy operations adhere to applicable laws, regulations, accreditation standards, and company policies.

This position combines pharmacy leadership, team development, operational oversight, regulatory responsibility, and hands-on pharmacy practice. The PIC works collaboratively with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, pharmacy leadership, and other partners to support safe, compliant, efficient, and service-focused pharmacy operations.

This role offers a unique opportunity to grow as a pharmacy leader while remaining actively involved in patient care. In addition to leading and developing the pharmacy team and advancing pharmacy operations, the PIC supports daily dispensing, clinical review, and pharmacist coverage to help ensure safe, accurate, and timely medication delivery.

What is Long-Term Care Pharmacy

Long-term care pharmacy is a specialized area of pharmacy practice focused on supporting older adults and individuals living in senior living and other long-term care settings.

At Symbria, we combine the personalized care of an independent pharmacy with the innovation of a technology-forward leader. For more than 20 years, we have invested in advanced pharmacy solutions designed to improve patient safety and support our healthcare partners.

Unlike traditional retail pharmacy, long-term care pharmacy involves close collaboration with healthcare providers and community care teams to support safe and effective medication use. Pharmacists play an important role in medication management, regulatory compliance, operational quality, and ensuring medications are provided accurately and timely to the people we serve.

Our advanced strip packaging programs help:

  • Save time
  • Improve medication accuracy
  • Reduce medication waste
  • Support medication adherence

We serve a variety of healthcare settings, including:

  • Assisted Living
  • Skilled Nursing
