Symbria Rx Services in Woodridge, IL is seeking a team oriented, experienced Inventory Pharmacy Technician who shares our commitment to ensuring the health and wellness of seniors. The Ideal candidate will be a tech savvy, quick study with the ability to wear multiple hats. 

 

Position Summary

The Inventory Pharmacy Technician is responsible for supporting the management and maintenance of pharmacy inventory to ensure medications and supplies are available, accurate, and compliant with regulatory requirements. This role assists with inventory control processes, including receiving and stocking medications, monitoring inventory levels, processing returns, managing medication expirations, and supporting product recalls. The Inventory Pharmacy Technician works closely with pharmacists, purchasing personnel, and pharmacy operations teams to maintain efficient workflows and ensure uninterrupted service to the residents and patients served by our long-term care pharmacy.

 

What is Long-Term Care Pharmacy?

Symbria Rx Services is a Long-Term Care (LTC) pharmacy specializing in medication services and clinical support for individuals living in residential care settings. Unlike traditional retail pharmacies, LTC pharmacies partner closely with healthcare providers, nurses, caregivers, and community staff to coordinate medication management for residents with complex medical needs.

As a closed-door pharmacy, Symbria focuses exclusively on serving long-term care communities and does not provide services directly to the general public. Through innovative technology, advanced medication packaging solutions, and specialized pharmacy services, Symbria helps improve medication accuracy, enhance resident safety, promote medication adherence, and streamline medication management for healthcare teams.

Work Schedule: 

  • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 11:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.  
  • Every other weekend, with Thursdays off 
  • Available for quarterly inventories  


Responsibilities

Functions and Responsibilities:
Process and check in wholesale orders daily. 
• Restock shelves with inventory and returns daily throughout pharmacy areas and restock shelves from overstock daily. 
Monitor and process returns of outdated, slow moving, and/or unused medications with wholesaler for credit. 
• Work with wholesaler and pharmacy usage reports to establish par levels. 
• Communicate product information, availability, and changes to pharmacy staff. 
• Prepare and participate in quarterly physical inventory. 
• Make suggestions to pharmacists for alternate product to fill a prescription. 
• Communicate backorder problems to our customers and pharmacy staff. 
• Prepare and manage returns process according to established policy. 
Any and all duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, the ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily is necessary and the qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
• High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Pharmacy Technician license and/or Certification (CPhT) as per State requirement.
• Must be able to work weekends, holidays and alternate shifts for PTO/staffing coverages as operational needs dictate.


QUALIFICATIONS PREFFERED:
• Pharmacy inventory experience; minimum one year.
• Pharmacy technician experience: long-term care setting
