Position Summary

The Pharmacy Tech Customer Specialist (PTCS) is responsible for providing services directly to customers and staff of assisted living and independent living campuses to maintain customer satisfaction and increase client base within a campus.

 

Position Details:

  • 11:00AM to 8:00PM CST.
  • Rotating weekends and holidays. Those hours will depend on needs.
  • Must currently live in a state Symbria Rx Services is licensed in: AZ, CO, FL, IL, IN, KS, MA, MI, MO, PA, OH, WI

 

Responsibilities

FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain direct contact with patients and their families to verify insurance/ payment information, perform Medicare Part D evaluations and to help monitor high cost medications and copays.
• Provide internal marketing within existing communities to increase our client base.
• Assist with enrollment and ordering via programs designed specifically for this customer base such as Medicare B covered medication and cash-discount cards.
• Work directly with communities to provide services such as flu clinics and family night to their clients.
• Assist communities to prepare for survey visits.
• Assist with new community transitions.
• Process new and refill prescriptions.
• Package and prepare cycle medications.
• Contact physician’s office as needed for refill authorization.
• Contact client for verification of orders as needed.
• Prepare audit sheets and provide feedback to manager.
• Forward incomplete or rejected scripts to appropriate department for resolution and track status in the system.
• Initiate and document correspondence and follow up in system.
• Work collaboratively with other team members and manager to ensure best-practices are shared.
• Provide backup support to other pharmacy departments based on business needs or production levels.
• Any and all duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, the ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily is necessary and the qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

• High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Pharmacy Technician License where applicable, in all states Symbria has a pharmacy and a National Certification (CPhT).
• Willingness to obtain multiple state licensure in the states Symbria provides pharmacy services.
• Retail pharmacy or customer service experience; minimum one year.
• General computer knowledge including Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Excellent customer service, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to identify and meet customer’s needs and requirements.
• Strong knowledge of Brand/Generic drugs and medical terminology.
• Must be able to work weekends, holidays and alternate shifts for PTO/staffing coverages as 24/7/365 operational needs dictate.
